Position Summary:
SUNY Ulster County Community College, a two-year branch of the State University of New York located ninety miles north of New York City in the Catskill Mountains, is currently accepting applications a part-time adjunct Instructor teaching assignments in computer science for the spring 2025 semester and beyond. The spring semester runs from January 27 through May 22, 2025.Under the general supervision of the Computer Sciences Coordinator in the STEM Department, the adjunct instructor will provide computer science instruction in accordance with established course syllabi along with departmental and college policies.
Possible courses include:
- CSC-205 Software Engineering Practices
- CSC-250 Computer Architecture and Organization
- CSC-220/225 Computer Game Design I/II

Duties and Responsibilities:
- A commitment to meet on campus during each scheduled class session and to teach or conduct learning exercises for the entire time period.
- To provide each student at the beginning of the course with a Course Outline which will include contact information, topics covered, and information about how the student will be assessed as per departmental guidelines.
- Accurately keep required class records on attendance and grading and submit when required.
- Comply with all institutional and departmental policies and procedures.
- Give careful attention to all departmental and administrative communications by checking your SUNY Ulster email frequently.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Masters’ degree in computer science or closely allied field and a familiarity with the community college mission and our diverse students.
- Previous computer science teaching experience.
And
- Commitment to community college goals and objectives of providing quality programs and services for culturally, socio-economically, ethnically, and academically diverse students and students with disabilities; personal qualities to work effectively and with sensitivity in a multicultural environment; awareness of and commitment to the needs of non-traditional and/or re-entry students with diverse abilities and interests.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the Brightspace learning management system.
Salary:
$1049.00 per contact hour.Application Process:
