Position Summary:
SUNY Ulster County Community College, a two-year branch of the State University of New York located ninety miles north of New York City in the Catskill Mountains, is currently accepting applications for an Outreach and Program Navigator.The Outreach and Program Navigator provides outreach support to the College to recruit workforce students for advanced technology programs and to coordinate promotion and entry into these programs. This position is grant funded through December 24, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend Open Houses and Information Sessions targeted to the adult student.
- Advise students on pre-requisites that will help ensure they have the resources needed to be successful in training program.
- Assist student with registration process, including helping them identify scholarships and guiding them through applying for FAFSA, Part-time TAP, and Workforce Pell.
- Facilitate communication between students, tutors and supportive services as needed,
- Develop relationships with local employers aligned with programs being offered to Adult students.
- Assist students with services needed to help ensure success in program.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree. Must have knowledge of college processes, including LMS systems, Financial Aid, and Registration.
And
- Commitment to community college goals and objectives of providing quality programs and services for culturally, socio-economically, ethnically, and academically diverse students and students with disabilities; personal qualities to work effectively and with sensitivity in a multicultural environment; awareness of and commitment to the needs of non-traditional and/or re-entry students with diverse abilities and interests.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting students with special needs
- Demonstrated commitment to student success
- Experience as a job coach, vocational counselor or employment trainer
- Multilingual
Salary:
A starting rate of $26.27 an hour. This position is part-time, under 17.5 hours per week. Some evenings or Saturdays may be required. All positions are contingent upon adequate funding. This position is Grant funded through December 24, 2026.Application Process:
