Position Summary:
SUNY Ulster County Community College, a two-year branch of the State University of New York located ninety miles north of New York City in the Catskill Mountains, is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Registrar.
The Assistant Registrar shall be responsible to the Registrar and shares responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, privacy and security of all academic records. The Assistant Registrar works to ensure compliance with published policies and procedures while providing outstanding customer service to students, staff, faculty, and the larger community. This position provides functional and technical expertise supporting Banner, Degree Works, and other student related software products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- At the request of the Registrar, supervises the functioning of the office.
- Database Systems:
- Ensure all program and course changes, approved by the Curriculum Committee, are reflected accurately in Banner and Degree Works databases.
- Maintain federal financial aid compliance rules using Banner Module systems and Degree Works in collaboration with Financial Aid and Student Accounts.
- Respond and resolve student issues regarding degree audits.
- Assist faculty and staff in accessing and interpreting student data in support of academic success.
- Works collaboratively with the Curriculum Committee and/or Continuing Education in the review and approval of microcredentials.
- Maintain microcredentials in Banner, including new and or updated microcredentials.
- Graduation:
- Review applications of candidates for degree conferral. Communicate to advisors when additional information is required; follow up with waivers and transfer credits as needed.
- Update and maintain graduation status records in Banner.
- Notify candidates who applied for, but did not complete degree requirements for graduation.
- Prepare candidate lists for distribution to Academic Senate, Marketing and Commencement committee members.
- Assist with the coordination and implementation of commencement activities.
- Assist with degree conferral and communicate to students who successfully completed degree.
- Order diplomas, communicate to students and distribute accordingly.
- Assists office staff in responding to questions raised by students, faculty and campus personnel.
- Participate in registration activity for credit students as needed.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of academic terms, schedules and courses.
- Assist Institutional Research to complete all necessary course and student data submissions.
- Ensure accurate coding for tuition and fees for all credit courses, including but not limited to: the "special student cohorts" of Collegian, P-TECH, President's College Scholars, Hudson Link, high school students, New Start, Cross Registration.
- Assist with the coordination and development of registration procedures for all credit courses.
- Assist in and act as liaison in resolving system issues pertaining to student records and registration.
- Assists in ensuring institutional FERPA compliance.
- Works closely with the Office of Information Technology to maintain Banner forms pertaining to registration, classroom scheduling, end-of-semester processing, and graduation audits.
- Tests and troubleshoots Banner forms after updates are implemented.
- Serves on appropriate college committees.
- Assists in the review of and edits to the College Catalog.
- Active in state, regional and national professional organizations (SUNYRA, MSACROA and AACRAO).
- Assists in the development and implementation of the departmental and graduation budget.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned by the Registrar.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum of two years higher education.
- Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication and management.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well on a team.
- Knowledge and experience with college scheduling.
- Experience in Banner INB required.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Degree Works, specifically scribing.
Salary:
An initial starting salary of $61,800 with an excellent benefits package. This position is contingent upon adequate funding.Additional Information
